[Derby] Tommy Boy:
First, here's hoping everyone out in Derby Land or every where for that matter is safe in what has become the worst health crisis in our lives. CD allowing 23k for the Derby, I don't know about that, hope it goes off without a hitch. Racing has done pretty well from the prospective of keeping everyone safe. Some hiccups in Va, Ky, Az, Ca & Tx, but overall doing a decent job. The leader in Sports safety and how to do it right in these challenging times is the NHL. North of the border and doing it right, everyone on the same page. Here's hoping the sport gains more of a following for just the way they have handled this pandemic and getting back to playing safely. For the first time I have been able to follow the summer Meets while being home. For 6 months. Enjoying the Spa coverage on Fox, watching replays and capping with no time restraint. Wish it was under different circumstance. Taking care of what I have to and concentrating on racing.ROI could be better as I am losing every photo, being DQ'd in upstate NY (more than once) and trying to beat S Skydiver. ;-) We all take what the talking heads say with a grain of salt. Love Maggie's paddock reports. Now here's a passionate subject we have all weighed in on. On Sat with fervor in voice Tom Amoss laminated this little ditty. "All out there that view Lasix as a performance enhancer, I am appalled, it's an enabler." I would then ask if this is the case. Why is it not used everywhere? If it is as Tom suggests an enabler for best performance then why is it not in World Wide usage? Tom's predecessors did not use this and the horses ran more often and I am sure the figs will back me up as they were safer and healthier. No other jurisdiction uses this form of raceday medication. They use none. As should North America. Therapeutic drugs during training and down time with a withdrawal period for a clean racehorse on raceday. And when that day comes Tom you can take your ball and go home. Because your ignorance frustrates me as well for you to laminate this rubbish on National TV. No matter how they feel can Jon, Greg, Gary, Laffit, Maggie or Acacia ask Mr Amoss to tell us why this medication is not in universal use if it is so helpful and as Tom put it "enabling the horse to give it's best performance." Here's to raceday free medication rules and regs, sooner than later. Some years ago one might say this will never happen but I'd say the day is on the horizon.
