Re: [Derby] BC on TV/Medina Spirt;

I believe all the horses and jocks returned safely. And the hurt gate guy was feeling better. Sal ================================================================================================================================ Truly a great two days for racing. The BC Feed on line, racing on FS2, TVG & NBCSN as well NBC in Prime Time. More so than any telecast on NBC that I can remember it was all about the racing, capping and the connections, less fluff. The way it should be. Emphasis on moving the game toward race day free medication like the rest of the world, while letting everyone know Bob Baffert was under the microscope. They slipped a little on showing the fractions. Did I hear someone here say :"pace makes the race?" All post parades shown, again the way it should be. Putting racing alongside sports betting has helped the game IMHO. Fanduel buying in with both fists. Amidst the pandemic racing had a really good year IMHO again. With the exception of lost horseflesh, humans, and Arlington Park. When I look at So Fi Stadium I think of how great it would be for Holly Park still standing beside it. Same a s a new Bear facility in Illinois with AP right beside. Hence the new Islanders home next to Belmont. Adding racing to the mainstream. Tragic story of a brave horse as we lost a Derby winner in the same year as he won the race. We know Baffert's track record, very similar to his mentor DWL. I remember as the anabolic steroid era was coming to an end. I read a quote from Bob as," how what is legal is just that." A profound quote that led me down the path to where I am today. A staunch believer in NO RACE DAY MEDS. But it is hard to take away his accomplishments.Since the beginning, his operation revolves around winning The Derby. As his success grew he got better flesh to peruse that ambition. One can view his success in many ways as well his controversy. But the Jinson weed of Justify or what we now know as a cream on Medina Spirit I find it hard to see "cheating" or an undoing in the case of MS. I would feel the same way if these were 5k claimers as the infractions seem minor in nature. Justify was a much better horse than his peers and caught the right circumstances through his campaign to go on and win the TC. While MS connections (trainer & jock) put a plan together that came to be all be it a simple one, cause they new their horse. Go to the front and he'll be brave. He always was even in defeat. I expect his \Derby win will stay with him. Johnny V heading west to join Jersey Joe ! Adding some intrigue, JV should be stable rider for BB.
