So, in summary horse racing has officially priced out all the players playing under a million. It is odd how the big players on social media do not see rebates as an issue. They are spending their time blaming the TV analysts for killing the smaller players all the while skimming millions out of the pools. KY bill to lower tax and elim breakage (Terry Bjork) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Wed, 23 Mar 2022 11:33:05 -0600 From: Terry Bjork <tlbjork@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: derby@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [Derby] KY bill to lower tax and elim breakage Message-ID: <MWHPR04MB0462DCAEDD6BED7152E15B81A9189@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8; format=flowed Bloodhorse is reporting on an advancing KY bill that would lower the tax on most parimutuel wagers taken in state (except ADW which would see an increase), and eliminate breakage. The great Karnak predicts you the bettor would see $0 of the tax breaks, but all those extra breakage pennies could add up. "Price sensitive" bettors are whining on social media that the increase on ADW wagers could theoretically lower rebates. Although nobody knows anything about who is rebated and how much in Kentucky. The bill passed out of the House, 66-29. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/257549/pari-mutuel-reform-clears-kentucky-house . -- This email has been checked for viruses by AVG. https://www.avg.com ------------------------------ Subject: Digest Footer _______________________________________________ Derby mailing list Derby@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.derbylist.com/listinfo.cgi/derby-derbylist.com ------------------------------ End of Derby Digest, Vol 16, Issue 15 ************************************* _______________________________________________ Derby mailing list Posting: Derby at lists.derbylist.com Sub/Unsub: http://lists.derbylist.com/listinfo.cgi/derby-derbylist.com
