[Derby] Ascot Day 4
O-for yesterday but Coronation Friday arrives anew.
The going. All course (watered 5MM after racing yesterday). Good to Firm.
Race 1 – Albany
Matrika—Can Obrien double up after Meditate’s rousing success last year. Matrika is a full sister to one of my favorite horses racing right how in Unicorn Lion (racing in Japan and Australia)
Huge breeding advantage. Very Valuable filly for breeding. Hopefully translate to a winning run here. (betfair 12)
Race 2 - Commonwealth Cup
Little Big Bear or Shaquille. Loves me some bear but evens. Yikes. Shaquille on a mere 4 race winning streak at 6F. Once again my America 50% --Better jock angle.
Comn Murphy, Lets give it a go (Betfair 11.5)
Race 3 Duke of Edinburgh
Nagano—How good of a trainer is Varian? Horse just missed in a g3 two years ago and resurfaces at Royal Ascot in a handicap. Have no idea of current status so we
Have a look at the odds board which will tell us whether he is ready or not. (Betfair 10). Ready to roll
Race 4 Coronation
Call me Crazy but I still think Meditate > Tahiyra. Its like Henry and Ravens all those years ago. I was right then. Wonder if I will be right this time. (Betfair 4.6)
Race 5 Sandringhm
Coppice, Yet anther pedigree play. Full sister to the wonderful Calyx. Hopefully she can run as fast. Frankie/Gosden add to the allure. (Betfair 9.2)
Race 6 King Edward III
King of Steel looks like a gimme. Second in the derby and no Auguste Rodin to be seen. (Betfair 2.18)
Race 7 Palace of Holyroodhouse
Hispanic severely bothered at the start in a listed race for 2023 comebacker. I will take another shot with the drop in class. Comn Moore. No problems please..I am begging you. (Betfair 23)
