[Derby] Better Late Than Never ;-)
Hey Sal,
Thanks for the shout out @ Ascot. I had great fun this yearcappin' one of the best meets in the world this year. I'd say the performanceof the meet was Allan's pick @ 8/1 upsetting a heavy fav. And coming back again and beating older. Or Frankie's ride on a wire to wire winner, just masterful still. Or Paddy in a small field . But check his turn time, he's the real deal. As he came back to win again as well.
Hope to throw some thoughts out @ the Spa & Dmr this summer as well. Seems like the DerbyList has slowed to a crawl.
I've moved my tack back East some time ago as Cal racing has been a hard watch. Now more readjustment with GG closing. I hope some of the positives we are seeing enhance the game. I'd saygetting new blood to stick around is still a tough sell. Tracks need to work together and educate.
On a personal note, I lost a friend and mentor who introduced me to this wonderful sport some 40+years ago this past fall. I've dedicated myself to what she taught me, what ever you do, try to be your best.
For me now that is a horseplayer.
