Re: [Derby] Tom Amoss on Lasix
Mark P gave a critique of the broadcast team at Fox Sports for the Saratoga meet. I love these kinds of discussions. I have a couple of comments. I suspect that Acacia and Maggie help each out out. Maggie is becoming a better presenter and Acacia is becoming a better paddock analyst. One other thing that I like learning more about is the ex jockeys’ perspectives. I think it was Migliore who mentioned how jockeys signal each other on the turn about the timing of moves on the rail. The inside jockey is given a chance to move into position or otherwise the rail will shut down shortly thereafter. It helps when watching a race. Everybody else is fine. Overall, I wish it would be more of an educational experience. It is, but maybe not enough. One more skill needs to come on board. They need a person who has expertise in betting. I think that betting and handicapping are different skills.
