    [Derby] BC Day 2

These are my humble opinions for the 2nd day of the BC. Given how I have done lately, they are very humble. :)

Race 4. Filly and Mare Sprint
No opinion here

Race 5. Turf Sprint
#4 Lieutenant Dan (6/1)  - 2 for 2 at Del Mar. Battled to wins in the last two.
#6 A Case for You (8/1)  - Angled over a couple of times to a narrow seam for a strong late close.
Over a couple of value possibilities
#8 Casa Creed (20/1) - Far back, angle out stretch for good  late close.
#12 Extravagant Kid (12/1) - This horse has not had a chance to really show his ability since Dubai.

Race 6. Dirt Mile
#3 Ginobli (4/1) - 3 for 4 at Del Mar. Was on 4w 1st turn in last winning effort.
#5 Life is Good (4/5) - In command in hand last out.

Race 7. Filly and Mare Turf
#4 Rougir (6/1) - Strong from far back on Arc day at Longchamp in the Prix De l’Opera.
#7 War Like Goddess (7/2) - Been impressive this year.

Race 8. Sprint
#2 Jackie’s Warrior (6/5) - Rocking chair ride in last.
Over value possibility:
#3 C Z Rocket (12/1) - Seemed against the flow last. Could improve.

Race 9. Mile (Turf)
#3 Space Blues (3/1) - Came like a cannon shot late in the Prix de la Foret-G1 at Longchamp on Arc Day.
Over these horses (in alphabetical order)
#14 Ivar (12/1) - Never comfortable in last. Could improve today.
#6 Mo Forza (5/1) - Finished well last. 3 for 6 at Delmar.
#9 Mother Earth (8/1) - Solid late move inside in the Queen Elizabeth at Ascot.
#12 Pearls Galore (12/1) - Was the best of the early runners in the Prix de la Foret.
#15 Real Appeal (AE) (15/1) - Came off rail in a crowd to make a solid late winning move.

Race 10. Distaff
#8 Letruska (8/5) - Always impressive
#2 Royal Flag (8/1) - Moved 5w to win solidly last. This is one long strider.

Race  11. Turf
#9 Sisfahan (12/1) - Has run competitively against Toquator Tasso (Arc winner) and Alphanista in Germany. Alphanista beat Walton Street (dominating winner of Canadian International). This is a good fit here.
#13 Tarnawa (8/5) - Ran inside through a crowd in the Arc to get 2nd.
#12 Teona (6/1) - Steadied and ran solidly to win the Qatar Prix Vermeille on Arc day.
Over:
#3 Domestic Spending (4/1) - Best of the U.S. horses.

Race 12. Classic
#4 Essential Quality (3/1) - Solid run against lonesome speed last.
#1 Tripoli (15/1) - Pushed out 5 or 6w into 1st turn last and made a threatening 3w move into the 2nd turn on a day that seemed to be favoring inside speed. Has was won 1 out of 2 at Del Mar. Look for a good run here.

Have a fun BC day, Sal
