The industry seems to get a "wake-up call" about every six months. Most recently the deaths at Santa Anita. Before that, the big dope busts at Pennsylvania tracks. Before that, threatened Federal intervention in horse racing. Before that, all the doping busts in quarterhorse racing. Etc etc. But people keep right on sleeping anyhow.
